Let it Snow

Ohhhh, last weekend, I took a class at Island Scrapbooking to learn how to use Distress Ink. I've seen samples of cards using them but couldn't figure out the technique. Boy, am I glad I took the class.

On my first card.....the "guinea pig" card, I had to toss it. It didn't turn out well because I distressed the entire background in blue. When I added the "snow," the blue showed thru. I should've known.....duh.

Soooo, on the card below, I cut out white cardstock, then stuck on the house, trees, and snowman, then used Tacky glue and "Flower Soft" for the snow. I'm so happy Ben Franklin had one last container of white just waiting for me to buy it. :-) It really looks like snow. YAY!!!!
That was FUN!!!

So here's all the goodies I used for this card:
House stamp by Hero Arts
Snowflake stamp by Stampin' Up
Distress Ink
Copic markers
Trees and snowman are buttons by Dress It Up with the shanks removed
Tacky glue
Flower Soft for Snow
Ribbon

Nice job, Karen. Love how you used the buttons without the shank.

Hi Karen, Thanks for your sweet email. I'm glad you liked the class and it's great to see you've tried the techniques on your own. Your card is adorable and I love the color combo!
