Sweet Birthday Wishes

Heeeey Peeps!  Got another birthday card to share with you today.  This one is for our youngest son's girlfriend.  What a coincidence that 2 of our sons are born in September and both their girlfriends are also born the same month.   LOL.   I inked this cute image of Betsy Bluebell by Penny Black with Copics.  It's been a while since I used my Frantage so I "had to" splash some on.
Other fun ingredients:
Spellbinder dies
Flower punches by Marvy and McGill
Leaf punch by EK
DPs from stash
Large Scallop Border die by Stampin' Up
Pearls by Kaiser Crafts

Hubby and I had a fab weekend.   On Saturday, we headed to Kona since he was craving lunch at Big Island Grill.   It didn't surprise me that he ordered the Roast Pork with Mac Salad and gravy ALL OVER.    If you're ever in Kona, you gotta eat here.

I ordered the combination Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Teriyaki with mashed potatoes and mac salad. YUMMMM!!!!

And we shared a Caesar Salad.....

We then checked in at the Hilton Waikoloa.  OMGosh, it was so HOT.   As soon as we got to our room we blasted the A/C to FIFTY EIGHT DEGREES and stood in front of it to cool off.    Then we got cold and headed out to see the dolphins.   When we stepped outside, we said, "Oh, so nice and warm out here."   Hee-hee, so crazy.

I must've taken at least 12 shots, trying to get the dolpins in their high leap in the air or other tricks but I had bad timing.  This is the best one of all.

My sweet hubby bought me Mint Chocolate Ice Cream to cool off while watching the dolphins.   I won't mention the price....almost fainted.   Hee-heel.

The main reason we went to the Hilton was to see America perform Saturday night.  It was AWESOME!!!!  Gee, I can't recall when was the last time we went to a concert.  Surely, many moons ago.    On Sunday, we shopped at Costco before heading back home.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

A CAS Birthday Card and More Foodie Pix

Our youngest son recently celebrated his birthday.  Since he's the "baby" I thought I'd keep it cutsie. LOL.  Hee-hee, I wonder if he's gonna read my blog.  Oh ohhhhhh.   Believe me, he's no baby anymore.  He's in his mid-20s.  September sure was a busy month plus working on my holiday projects so I had to keep it simple.  This image is from the "Critter Party" clear stamp set by Penny Black.  The banner is by  QuicKutz and laser cut sentiment from Island Scrapbooking

Yesterday, we had our quarterly office luncheon at Miyo's.  Well, the last time I ate there with my friend, I forgot to take a picture of my meal so I ordered the same thing just so I could take a pix.   LOL.  Well, really, I'm a creature of habit and I honestly felt like eating this again.   Here's the Shrimp Tempura and Beef Teriyaki Combo.   Oh, soooooo yummilicious.

One of my co-workers order this.   Sashimi and I think that's the Sesame Chicken combo.

Here's one of the appetizers we ordered, Fried Eggplant.  So delicious.  We also ordered the Poke and Fried Tofu.   I didn't want to impose on anyone else by taking a picture of what they ordered so this is it.

Time to make another b/d card.  Actually, got 2 more to go.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!!

A Birthday Card for a Kitty Lover and Some Yummy Foodie Pix

Sharing with you today is a card I made for a former co-worker who recently celebrated her birthday.  Being a cat lover, I couldn't resist inking up this cutie patootie kitty by Penny Black.

Ingredients for this card:
Sun die from the "Spring Showers" set by Lawn Fawn
"Puffy Clouds"and "Norrland Flower"dies by Memory Box
Leaves from "Fabulous Phlox" die by Memory Box
Sentiment - Laser Cut by and from Island Scrapbooking
DP from stash
Pearls by Kaiser Craft

It's been quite a while since Jenny, Karen D., Oli, and I had lunch together.  It was super nice to enjoy lunch yesterday at The Pond's restaurant in Hilo.   I love to post food pix, so here's what we ordered.   Oli had the Avocado and Crab Wrap.   Ummm, looks yummy huh?

Jenny and Karen D. ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich.

And I ordered the Chicken Kalbi......so deelish!!!!

Shucks, no group shot this time.  The waitress actually did take a pix but it came out dark due to the lighting.

OK, need to continue watching The Voice, one of my favorite shows.   Enjoying the 2 new coaches too.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

Happy Birthday to Our Son's Girlfriend and a Lava Flow Pix

Well, as some of you may know, our oldest son and his girlfriend have 2 kitties.....big kitties.  So I thought this Penny Black image would be perfect for our son's girlfriend who recently celebrated her birthday.  Of course, I wanted to color this kitty like one of their cats which is gray.  And that would be Eli.  If you zoom in, you can also see the most itty-bitty bow I've ever made with sewing thread to tie the strings for the balloon.

Ingredients for this card:
Copics
"Puffy Clouds" and "Resting Birds" die by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking
Balloon dies by CC Design
Fence die by Magnolia
Grass punch by Martha Stewart
Sentiment - Laser cut by and from Island Scrapbooking
Embroidery Thread
Thread for bow

And for those who live in Hawaii, especially on the Big Island, we are keeping our eyes on the lava flow and praying for those who are or will be affected as it inches it's way towards Pahoa town. According to the news report I just heard, the front is 50 yards wide, traveling about 300 yards per day, and is currently about 2 miles away from reaching Hwy. 130.  It is estimated to cross the hwy. in about 12 days.  Alternate routes are being constructed now.  This shot was taken from our street.  The left side of that line of smoke is the flow front.  That is about 20 miles (per hubby) from where we live but we're at a higher elevation.

Fun Weekend at the Hilton Waikoloa for Taping of Wheel of Fortune and a Card to Share

Hi Peeps!   Hope you all had a super weekend.

About a month ago, my hubby asked if I wanted to see the taping of the Wheel of Fortune at the Hilton Waikoloa.  My answer was a no-brainer.  YAH, LET'S GO.   So we got tickets for the taping this past Saturday.  After meeting up and having lunch with friends from Oahu who we haven't seen in years, we checked in to the Hilton Waikoloa.  Despite the brutal sweltering heat, we had a grand time.

We were super lucky to get VIP tickets.  Really, we're not sure how that happened but hey, we'll take it.  Thank you very much.

We also had a choice room.   From our balcony, we could see the Wheel of Fortune stage.  There were two seatings that evening (as well as the other 3 days of taping).  Because we could see the stage, we got to view the taping of both seatings, one from our balcony, and one from the live audience.    They taped 2 shows in one seating.  The taping we viewed from the audience will air on 11/6 and 11/7.  It was quite an experience to see trailers for equipment, film crew, cameras on cables sliding back and forth to capture the audience, Pat Sajak and Vanna White in person, the guy whose voice we hear introducing Pat and Vanna and the prizes.  Did you know, there is only one wheel that the contestants spin and it weighs 2,400 lbs.  Wowser!

We also had a spectacular view of the ocean from our balcony.

This resort is HUMONGOUS with several towers.  So to get around you either walked a LOT or could catch the tram or boat.   When we first got there, we caught this boat to the Ocean Tower.

Hubby and I felt like eating Japanese food for dinner so we dined at Imari.

Since we got there about 15 minutes before opening, we each ordered a drink to cool off.    I very rarely drink alcoholic beverages and we don't do this all the time so he ordered a Bud and I ordered The Pipeline (peach schnapps, vodka, and tropical fruit juice).

Started off with the Imari Salad.   See those long yellowish things on the top?   We never saw that before and were wondering what it was.  Hubby said he thinks it ginger flower buds.  Hmmmm, I don't think so.  LOL.   So we asked the waitress.  She said they are corn shoots.   Ohhhh, interesting and yummy.

Hubby ordered the Tuna Stack.  It has avocado on the bottom and sashimi on top.   That was all his because I do not eat raw fish.  Funny kind Japanese yah?   LOL

Here's the Hiyashi Chika Noodles.   UMMMMM NOODLES!!!!  YUM!!!!

And we both ordered Shrimp Tempura.   Ummmm, little bit skinny but very oishii (delicious).

Hubby loves his ice cream and ordered the Tempura Fried Banana Split.   We shared this.  It's like Banana Lumpia covered with ice cream, topped with whipped cream, coconut flakes, and chocolate drizzle.   Our tummy's were definitely satisfied.

And on to my CAS scene card using "Critters in the Snow" set by Lawn Fawn, "Landscape" die by Mama Elephant, Copics, and "Golf Club Landscape" die by Memory Box with the flag snipped off.   All are from Island Scrapbooking.

A Birthday Card for Our Son

Our eldest son recently celebrated is birthday.  Since he and his girlfriend have a couple of pet rats (eeek), I thought this micey image and sentiment by Crafter's Companion would be perfect for his card.  Kept it simple as I have several  birthdays within a 5 week span.  I inked the image with Copics, made my own banner, and topped it off with the "Precious Stars" dies by Memory Box.

Sunflowers

Happy Sunday Peeps.  Hope your weekend is a fun-filled one.

Here's the 4th of 6 cards I gave to my sweet friend, another CAS card.   Got this cool sunflower die by Cheery Lynn from my sweet cuz a while ago.  The "Open Leaf Flourish" die by La La Land is one of my newest dies.  Love the way it's cut.   AND the "A2 Curved Borders One" by Spellbinders is a set I had on my wish list and I was thrilled to get them at Ben Franklin Crafts.  Woo-hoo.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

A Gift For You

Yay, this week went by like a blur.  So glad its the weekend again.  Did I tell you I changed my house cleaning day from Friday to Wednesday?   Yah, best idea I had because now I can craft even more on the weekends.  Who wants to start the weekend cleaning house?  No fun.  :-)

So far, I'm on schedule for my holiday cards.  Crossing my fingers I'll keep up.  THEN I'll need to work on my calendars.  And thank goodness I got my paper craft donations done in May (started in April) for the American Cancer Society because last year, I went into a little panic.  Eek!

Onto my card.  This is the 3rd of 6 cards I gave to my super dear friend as part of her b/d gift.

A Touch of Elegance

Wow, this week is sure flying by FAST.  Actually, the entire year is.

As you know, I'm a bargain hunter.   Needing more pants for work, I went to Macy's this past weekend.  I found 2 capris and the original price was $49 each.   It was marked down plus I got an additional 20% off.  Woo-hoo, I paid a little over $17 for each.  Cha-ching!!!!

A couple of days ago, I needed to sew the sides in a bit on one of the pants and the foot pedal died.  So, I took out the Viking that my mom gave me a few years ago which she had for years and hardly used.  Happy that my hubby found the "lost" foot pedal and I had a spare sewing machine, I got it threaded, pressed on the foot pedal and it went "click, PACK" and started smoking.  Whoa, I think the motor blew.  Hee-hee. So out it went into the trash.   Looks like I'll need a new machine.   Yah!  All is good.

Anyhoo, on to my card.  This is the 2nd of 6 cards I gave to my friend.   I used my newest die (the curved one) by Marianne Design.  Oh, I LOVE this.  The die itself looks kinda weird but after blog hopping and seeing what other crafters created, it was a must-have.    Also, in the corner, I added another die cut, this one by Joy Crafts.  And the flowers are by CC Design that my sweet cuz gave me a while ago.

A CAS Card for Any Occasion

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

This afternoon I stopped by Island Scrapbooking and had a really nice chat with Michele.  Then headed on to Target and ran into Jenny.   Its been a while since I last saw her so I was really happy we got to chat for a while.  Time to meet up for lunch again.  Oh, and do check out the Sister Stamps newest release.  The furry babies are just cute as cute can be.

Well, sharing with you today is card #1 of 6 which I gave to my sweet friend as part of her b/d gift.  Must admit my mojo was somewhere in outer space so I kept this and a few others very simple.

I used the "Piestra Tile" die by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking, "Blossoms" stamps set by Hero Arts, and Copics.   Simple huh?

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!
