Friends

Aloha Peeps!   Hooray, it's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend of crafting.  How 'bout you?

Here's a card I recently made as a sample for Island Scrapbooking.  Couldn't resist this "Koala Bear Hug" image by Candi Bean.  I've been seeing LOTS of cards using a variety of stitched dies in blog land and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them.   So when I saw the "Stitched Sky" die set by Mama Elephant and "Stitched Scallop Edges" die by Die-namics, it was a no-brainer....just "had to" get them.   LOL.

Also used:
"Friends" laser cut sentiment by and from Island Scrapbooking
Flat-back pearls by Kaiser Crafts
Copics

After making all of my Christmas cards and coaster calendars for the holidays, I wiped out my supply of double-stick tape.  Couldn't believe I was down to my last roll.   Eeek!  THANK YOU HM BEN FRANKLIN CRAFTS for having a sale on them.   I bought 25 rolls and am happy as can be.  YAY, my stock has been replenished.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!!

A Birthday Card for One of the Sweetest Persons I Know

We recently celebrated my dear co-worker's birthday.  She is so genuinely kind, pure, never says anything bad about anyone, and has a heart of gold.  I swear she's a angel.  I am so fortunate and blessed to work with her.  She is truly an inspiration.

Since her family has a sweet little kitty that they rescued, I thought this image would be perfect for her and I'm so happy she loved the card.

Last year we decided to ask the birthday person what they'd like for their birthday rather that guess what they wanted.  Well, Carrot Cake is her favorite and my other co-worker said Island Naturals make the best.  And yummy it was!!!!

Thought I'd get some Maki and Mustard Cabbage sushi also to add to the celebration.   LOL.

Thanks Cuz

My sweet cuz did it again!   Showered me with some awesome goodies this past Christmas.   Using some of the cool things she got for me, I made this thank you card for her.

Of course my eyes lit up when I opened the box. Here are the fun goodies she sent.  Wowie!!!!   In the past, I made the Step-Up card but using my scoring pad.  Well woo-hoo, now it's so easy peasy with the Sizzix "Basic Step Ups" die.  This set comes with flower dies too which I used on the two panels on the right.   The flowers on the left panel are from the "Boscoe" set by Taylored Expressions which I inked up with Copics.    Do you see the teeny tiny flower pot?  That's from the "Flowers and Stems" mini die set, also by Taylored Expressions.  Now I can make all kinds of words (like THANKS) or phrases using the Sizzix "Alphanumeric" die set.   Can't wait to play with all the other goodies.    THANK YOU CUZ!!!!!

Other supplies used:
Leaf punches by Punch Bunch and EK
DP from stash
Pearls by Kaiser Craft
Stamin punch by Punch Bunch

Thanks for poppin' in for a visit and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!  Toodles.

CAS Thank You Cards

Hey Peeps!   Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend in observance of Martin Luther King Day. It's a good day for me to get my crafty toys reorganized.....again.  LOL.

Sharing this CAS thank you card with you today.  It was very simple to make and thanks to a similar card I saw on Pinterest, I was able to put to use the "Piestra Tile" die by Memory Box that I had for quite some time.  I added the daisy die called "Bashful" by Penny Black, and the "Thank You" sentiment by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

And here are 6 of them.....

One of the recipients of the thank-you card is Eunice who so generously surprised me with these dies. As you can see, I used the "thank you" die for my cards.   I LOVE them all and will definitely enjoy playing with them on future cards or paper crafts.  THANK YOU EUNICE!!!!!!   Be sure to hop over onto her blog to see ALL of her AMAAAAAZING creations.

Thanks for popping in and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!

December Secret Sister Swap

I'm having TONS of fun with the Secret Sister Swap.   It's always fun to send and receive happy mail.

Here's the card I sent to Jayne along with one of the coaster calenders I made and posted last month.

Fun supplies used:
Copics
Poinsettia embossing folder by Crafter's Companion
Holly Vine by Memory Box
"Joy" die by Lawn Fawn
Scallop punch by Martha Stewart
Charm from stash
Spellbinder dies

Coincidentally, she was my secret sister too.  I received this sweet card from her.  Love the bling and sparkle.

OMGosh, I was blown away with the sweet RAK she enclosed.    I like to  (or try to) be organized so the calendar, note holder, and note pad by Mary Englebreit with surely be put to excellent use.  The tree stamp will be great on a scene-type card and the embellies will add fun dimension to any project. The cute little wreath embroidered doily will be used during the next holiday season.  THANK YOU SO MUCH JAYNE!!!!

With Sympathy

Recently, my hubby's co-worker lost his father so he asked me to make a sympathy card.  Using my new Lattice 1 die by Dee's Distinctively, I made this Asian-themed card.   Also added the bamboo die by Hero Art and butterfly die by C.C. Designs.   Can't forget the flowers right?  The sakuras (Cherry Blossoms) are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Using one of the sentiments from a mini clear stamp set by Kaiser Craft, I made my own banner and for additional dimension I put a pop-dot under it to raise the center.  The sentiment is also heat embossed.

Hope your year is off to a great start with lots and lots of crafting getting done.  Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!!

With Love and a Pix of Snow-Capped Mauna Kea

Hi Peeps!  Hope you all enjoyed the holiday festivities and 2015 is off to a great start.  Our doggies are definitely happy and relieved that there are no more fireworks.   And we didn't pop any.

I didn't craft for the last 2 weeks in December so it was nice to play with my crafty goodies again. Here's my first Valentine's Day card  using this cute image by Penny Black's "Touch of Love" clear stamp set and inked them up with Copics.   I saw this neat zipper die by Marianne Designs on a few blogs several months ago and "had to" get it.

For dimension, I made this hanging charm.

Also used the "Climbing Vine" by Poppy Stamps from Island Scrapbooking, sentiment by Hero Arts which I stamped and cut in half to make the tags, heart punch by Martha Stewart, puffy heart stickers, flat-back heart embellies for the flowers, ribbon from Stamps 'n Memories, and DPs from stash.

A couple of days ago, we had some blizzard type weather up Mauna Kea.  Here's a pix of the snow atop the mountain.

Handmade Holiday Cards and Calendars from Crafty Friends and Cuz

Aaaaah, so glad life is back to normalcy.   Whew!!!  It seemed like Christmas was always months away, but when it came, like a blink of an eye, it was over.  Christmas was so special with all of the amazing cards, calendars (and gifts) from my bloggie friends.

First up is this gorgeous card from my cuz.  I totally love the velvet poinsettia flower and burlap ribbon she used.  She's so talented and hopefully one day she'll start a blog.  Hint, hint....again.  :-)

I was all smiles to receive this cute card and magnetic-back calendar from Leanne.   I've got the calendar on our refrigerator.

Received this sugar sweet easel calendar from Cindy.  I decided to put her calendar on my craft desk. It'll help me to plan when to make cards and projects throughout the year.

This waterfall card is so cool.  Eunice is super creative and makes some of the most awesome interactive cards.   Pull on the tab below and the top portion flips up revealing her adorable pooch, Latte.  Continue pulling and her nice family pix appears.   Cool huh?

This adorable bunny Christmas card  is from Cheryl.   Made me smile because it reminds me of our youngest son's and his girlfriend's 2 bunnies.   Yup, now they have TWO, a male and female. YIKES!!!  Better get them fixed quick.  I'll share a pix once he sends it to me.

This pretty wreath card is from Cely.  Love the simplicity and traditional Christmas colors.

Got this stand-up calendar from Char.   I love to plan and find myself frequently needing to refer to a calendar so it's a "must" to have calendars throughout the house.  I have this on our other computer desk.

Don't you love this pretty Asian card from Linda?   Awesome highlights in her hair and I really love the sparkling snowflakes!

Also love how Kathy did a fab job with the highlights on this gorgeous card.

Mary sure created a beautiful winter scene.   Lovely card!!!

Yikes, we have some super windy weather headed our way and I can hear the gusts.  Better sign off quick before the power goes out.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy, prosperous, and very crafty 2015.
