Happy Snowman

Ohhhh, I just love Christmas. I remember when our 3 sons were little, my in-laws paid us a surprise visit. My very slim father-in-law was dressed up as Santa with a big pillow by his belly while my mother-in-law waited in the car across the street giggling. There was a knock on the front door. Much to our surprise, it was Santa with his bag of presents for the boys. "HO, HO, HO", he said and came into the house. He asked them if they were good. Startled and overjoyed, they said, "Yes." He gave them lots of presents and told them to always be good and listen to Mommy and Daddy. About 15 minutes after Santa went on his merry way, Grandma and Grandpa showed up. The boys told them Santa was just here. Cute yah?

The smile on the snowman's face reminds my of my late father-in-law.
The snowman stamp is by TGF which I colored with my Copic markers. The "warm wishes" stamp is also by TG which I embossed to give it a nice gloss. Just can't have enough Spellbinder dies. In fact, I had to get larger tray for my collection. The white background is embossed using the "Polka Dots" embossing folder by Cuttlebug. I LOVE dots. The edger punch is by EK Success and finally the snowflakes are buttons by Dress It Up with the shanks removed. I'm getting more of these buttons. They're GREAT.

Frolicking in the Peppermint Candy Patch

Sigh, I'm so full from eating so much. I feel like a stuffed turkey. :-) Is everyone headed for the mall tomorrow to battle the crowd on Black Friday?

I spent the day cooking but still had time to make cards. Here's a pop-up (or should I say "stand-up") card which would actually make a cute desk decor. The peppermint candy flowers is a stamp that I stamped twice. I went on the Dandelion Designs blog and saw the cute, cute stamp and found it at Ben Franklin. I'm having fun using button embellishments and Flower Soft for snow. There really give the card a 3D effect.

Well, I better hit the sack. I'm doing some shopping early tomorrow morning.
Happy shopping!!! WOO-HOOO!!!

Here are the supplies I used for this card.......
Peppermint Candy stamp by Dandelion Designs
Copic markers
Snowman button by Dress It Up with shank removed
Spellbinder die
Distress Ink
Paper by Imaginisce
Snow by Flower Soft

Let it Snow

Ohhhh, last weekend, I took a class at Island Scrapbooking to learn how to use Distress Ink. I've seen samples of cards using them but couldn't figure out the technique. Boy, am I glad I took the class.

On my first card.....the "guinea pig" card, I had to toss it. It didn't turn out well because I distressed the entire background in blue. When I added the "snow," the blue showed thru. I should've known.....duh.

Soooo, on the card below, I cut out white cardstock, then stuck on the house, trees, and snowman, then used Tacky glue and "Flower Soft" for the snow. I'm so happy Ben Franklin had one last container of white just waiting for me to buy it. :-) It really looks like snow. YAY!!!!
That was FUN!!!

So here's all the goodies I used for this card:
House stamp by Hero Arts
Snowflake stamp by Stampin' Up
Distress Ink
Copic markers
Trees and snowman are buttons by Dress It Up with the shanks removed
Tacky glue
Flower Soft for Snow
Ribbon

Happy Birthday Jenny

Yesterday was Jenny's birthday (Crazy for Paper) and here's the card I made for her. I call her the "Stamping Queen" because she is soooo amazing. I can't believe all the awesome things she produces so often.....just like a machine. I really don't think she sleeps. :-)

For the front of the card I used the stamp by CC Designs, Copics, Flowers by Mulberry Bear, fern punch by Martha Stewart, pearls by Hero Arts, Lace punch by Martha Stewart, floral paper by DCWV-Glitter Stack, Spellbinder dies, and the lavender paper is embossed with Texturz Background by Stampin' Up. May have to click on the pic to enlarge to see the embossing.
For the inside, I used a gift card pocket die by Sizzix, Spellbinder die, flower basket and monkey stamps by Dandelion Designs, Copics, sentiment by Hero Arts, corner punch by EK Success, and ribbon.
Jenny, hope you had a nice dinner, with big piece of cake and a gigantic scoop of ice cream.

Triangle Favor Box

Hope you're all having a nice weekend and staying "dry." Boy, we are sure getting a LOT of rain. That's OK though, we need it.

Yesterday, I went to 3 craft fairs. I didn't buy much but it's always fun to see all the neat stuff those creative crafters make. So inspiring. I was hoping to get home to watch the ending of the football game (Hawaii vs Boise State)......well, until I called home only to find out we were getting "smashed." So that's when I decided to go to the 3rd craft fair. Being in a family full of football fanatics (hubby and 3 grown sons), I kinda got hooked to football (UH Hawaii only) a few years ago after one of my sons explained more about the sport that made it more enjoyable for me.

I'm finally playing with my Scor-Pal again. Gotta start out with some easy stuff. Hope to "graduate" to the next "level" soon. LOL. I also used one of my new Spellbinder dies that I got at Island Scrapbookings anniversary sale a couple of weekends ago. LOVE IT!!!!

Supplies:
Mouse in mug stamp by TGF
Copics
Spellbinder die
Flowers by Prima
Leaf punch by EK Success
Ribbon
Hershey Kisses

October Tag Swap

Ohhhh, look at these cute tags I received from my October tag swap partner, Joni. What a neat idea to use a circle punch to make these ornaments. I like that. THANKS JONI.
