Oh Ohhh, Here Comes Happy Doogie... Guard the Sushi

Here's the last of the card samples I gave to Michele at Island Scrapbooking for her b/d.  I was a bit stumped on creating a scene with a table, wall, and floor but happy with how this turned out.   Wadaya think?  I searched thru my collection of stamps looking for a "person" to include in this scene but when I came across Doogie by Sister Stamps, I couldn't resist putting him on the table.  Initially, the table legs were straight on the sides and I thought they looked too plain so I used a punch by Martha Stewart to carve the sides.  The center of the Maki Sushi (the round ones) were colored with 4 Copics for the carrots, tuna, kamaboko (fish cake), and cucumber.  LOL.  Can you see it?  Are you getting hungry?  I sure could go for some yummy sushi right now.

The sushi, plate, chopsticks, chopstick rest, and sentiment are from the "Let's Roll" stamp set by Lawn Fawn which I got at Island Scrapbooking.  This was a "must-have" set for me.

Hope you enjoyed the samples I posted the past 10 days.  If you're in Hilo and want to see them in real life, they are displayed at Island Scrapbooking.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

Flowers Just for You

TGIF!!!

Floral arrangements are fun to make and even more so with dies.  I just can't have enough of them.  For this card, I used 4 different dies.   "Berry Sprig" and "Tall Vase" by Poppy Stamps.  Also, "Fine Florets" and "Pokey Stems" by Memory Box.  Got all of them at Island Scrapbooking including the Happy Birthday laser cut sentiments.
This card sample was part of Michele's (of Island Scrapbooking) b/d goodie bag.  One more to go which I hope will make you smile.  Hope you'll stop by tomorrow to take a peek.  Till then, toodles!

Evanston Birdhouse by Poppy Stamps

Hope you'll stop by again tomorrow for another post.    Till then, toodles.

An Inspiring CAS Card

Here's the 8th sample included in Michele's (of Island Scrapbooking) birthday goodie bag.   Kept this card simple to focus on the butterfly die and quote.   The moment I saw the "Kensington Border" die at Island Scrapbooking, I knew it was a must-have.  The quote was made on my computer.

I'll be posting sample #9 tomorrow.  Hope you'll hop over for a visit.  Till then, HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

A "Thank You" Sample Card

Hope you all enjoyed the long weekend.

Here's the 7th sample card included in the birthday goodie bag I gave to Michele of Island Scrapbooking.  Using the "Dainty Leaf" and "Small Hydrangea Blooms" dies by Poppy Stamps from Island Scrapbooking, I framed it with my Spellbinder dies.  To give the flower dimension, I made the petals  purple and pink.    Also, rolled the back of the petals with my stylus then flipped it over and pressed the center down using a smaller stylus.   Can you tell I love to used butterflies on my cards?  This one is by EK.

The laser cut sentiment by Island Scrapbooking is always easy and fun to add to any project and of course, the crystal flourish stickers gives some pizzazz.

The butterfly DP (cute yah?), sentiment, and crystal flourish are from Island Scrapbooking too.

Have a great week and stop by tomorrow for another post.  Toodles.

Friends

I had a rubber stamp with this inspiring quote but since it didn't fit in the embossed rectangle, I made it on my computer.  The embossing folder I used is called "Rectangle Spring is in the Air" by Nellie Snellen which has 4 little butterflies.  To add dimension, I punched my own using glitter paper and a butterfly punch by EK then taped it over the embossed butterflies.  The sentiment is a laser cut.   Oh, and the lace punch is by Martha Stewart.

Hope you'll stop by again tomorrow for another post of the samples I gave to Michele at Island Scrapbooking.  Five more to go.

Have a fun and crafty LONG weekend.

"Pocket Gift Tag" Card

Using the "Pocket Gift Tag" and "Plush Bow" dies by Memory Box, I made this card and added some crystal flourishes by Prima for some sparkle.  The floral DP is by Jillibean and checkered/dots DP by Pebbles.  You can find these fun goodies at Island Scrapbooking including the laser cut sentiment.

I'll have another post tomorrow so I hope you'll stop by for a visit.

Have a fabulous and crafty LONG weekend.

Two Cuties - BFF

Sharing my 4th of 11 samples I gave to Michele of Island Scrapbooking for her b/d.  This image is one of my favorites by Sister Stamps.  Their kimonos were paper-pieced with washi paper and the BFF sentiment is a laser cut made by Island Scrapbooking.   I embossed the background with the "Bamboo" embossing folder by Elizabeth Craft Designs and added the Party Lantern die cut by Poppy Stamps.  You can find all of these at Island Scrapbooking.

I still have more samples to post in the next week so I hope you'll hop over for a visit again.   If you're in Hilo, you can get a sneak peek at Island Scrapbooking as Michele has them displayed.

Okie dokie, till tomorrow, HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!

Friends

Here's the 2nd card I gave to Michele at Island Scrapbooking for her birthday use as a sample to display in her store.   The die is called "Wild Rose Bud" by Poppy Stamps.  I ran it thru my Big Shot 2x, once in green, then in lavendar.    I popped out the  green petals and replaced them with the lavendar ones.    Another idea is to run glitter paper thru the Big Shot and replace the outer part of the petals to give it a sparkly effect.  I believe I saw a sample like that at IS so credit goes to that creative crafter.

I also used these dies:
Delaney Butterfly by Poppy Stamps
Cheviot Butterfly by Poppy Stamps
Garden Pots by Memory Box

All of the dies and laser cut can be purchased from Island Scrapbooking.

Hey, did you watch The Voice last night?  I was all excited and glued to the TV.  I  reeeeally wanted Christina to win.  I felt she had it all.  When Carson announced she was the 3rd runner up, I was like "WHAAAAAT?!?!?"  Could you hear me????  Aw man, junk!  Hee-hee,  LOL.  Anyhoo, I know she'll be offered  recording deals so it'll be all good.  I really enjoyed her performance with Adam when they sang " Someone I Used to Know."  Good thing I recorded the show because I watched that performance at least 6x already.  I know, I'm silly.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.  I invite you to visit again tomorrow for my 3rd post.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELE OF ISLAND SCRAPBOOKING

As some of you may know, today is Michele's birthday.  I dedicated this past weekend to her and made a bunch of cards, etc. as samples to display in her store.  The majority of the products I used are from Island Scrapbooking.   I'll be posting them daily for the next 10 days so I hope you'll be back to visit my blog.   For those of you who live in Hilo, you can get a sneak peek as Michele will have them displayed throughout her store.

First up is this birthday card.  I used the "Pokey Stems" and "Twinkle Bell Flowers" dies by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking.  Thought the bright pink and deep purple had a nice contrast.  The sentiment is laser cut made by and sold at Island Scrapbooking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELE!!!  HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD ONE!!!

Hop on by again tomorrow for another post.  Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!

"Mimi" Thank You Card and Look What My Son Grew

TGIF!!!  What's up for the weekend?  Well, for me, I'm hoping to craft, craft, and craft after I finish cleaning house.

Here's a thank you card I made for my sweet friend using one of the images from the b/d gift she sent me.  This cutie is from the "Mimi in Paris" set.  Mimi's cap was paper-pieced with washi paper.

Keeping it a bit simple, I used the following:
Copics
DP from stash
Fran-tage.....or course.  Can't live without it...ha-ha.
Distress Ink
Flower by Prima
Sentiment in the center of the flower by Hero Arts
Flourish die by QuicKutz
Bling in the center of the flower by Jolee
Punch by EK

And HOLY COW, when I stepped into the kitchen a couple of days ago, my eyeballs almost fell out when I saw this gigantic squash on the table.  I placed a 12-inch ruler next to it so you can get an idea of how enormous this "bugger" is.  This monster-size squash weighs 14 lbs.  I call it a "torpedo."  LOL

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!!

A Sweet Birthday Card for a Sweet Bloggie Friend

Just can't get enough of these adorable Sister Stamps images.   They are just full of sweetness.   I made this card for a very special bloggie friend.  I inked "Yoshimi" with Copics and of course had to splash on some sakura flowers from Wild Orchid.  Keeping the Asian theme, I used washi paper that I got from my trip to Japan a couple of years ago and added the Asian corner laser cuts from Island Scrapbooking.

Other crafty ingredients:
Spellbinder dies
Leaf and butterfly punches by EK
Sentiment by Hero Arts
Pearls by Kaiser Crafts

Do any of you watch "Cat from Hell?"  OMGosh wow, you need to watch the episode called "Surprise Attack Cat."  That's my cousin's daughter and her hubby with sweet Littlez.  According to our local TV Guide, it'll be televised on Saturday, 5/17 in the evening twice.  It's on Animal Planet.  I LOVE happy endings.   Enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

Mother's Day Card for My Mom

I just returned from a quick trip to Oahu (as always) to spend Mother's Day with my mom.  Shucks, hubby couldn't make this trip.  We had a little family brunch with Mom today.  Yikes, sorry, no pix.  Here's the card that I made for her.  The happy little girl image is "Misaki" by Sister Stamps.  So kawai'i (cute).  I paper-pieced her kimono with washi paper.

Also used the following to create this scene:
Copics
DP from stash
Bamboo die by Hero Arts
Bamboo Trellis dies by Elizabeth Craft Design
Balloon die - C.C. Designs
Scallop and Butterfly punch by EK
Loop Die by Sizzix
Distress Ink
Twine
Pearls by Kaiser Crafts

I also ran into my dear friend who was my Maid of Honor at our wedding.  Though I only got to chat with her for 10 minutes, it was FUN and so exciting to see her again.  Being on a different island, we kind of lost touch over the years.

I really miss our eldest son and his girlfriend so it was WONDERFUL to spend time with them.  Yesterday, we enjoyed dinner at El Churro, a Mexican restaurant.   Here are pix of what we ordered.

I had the Chicken Chimichanga.....as us locals would say, "Broke da mouth."

My son's girlfriend always eat healthy.  I should learn from her.  She enjoyed the Chicken Salad.

And our son grinded the Carnitas.  He has a HUGE appetite and I actually find it entertaining watching him eat.  LOL

Thought I'd share more pix of their pets.  Here's Ripley (mellow kitty) and the 2 rats.  They don't even faze her.  LOL

And here's Eli ready for nap on his kitty hammock.  All of their pets live a good life.   :-)

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week.  Till next time, HAVE  A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

Ohh....and Still Celebrating

WOW, I received this Gorjuss Girl b/d card from my awesome and talented friend, Jenny.  What a cool card.  Here's the front.  I was told to "be sure to look inside."   Hmmmmm, I looked at the card thinking, "How?"  Hee-hee.  Ohhh, when I pulled on the pearl strands at the top which is attached to an insert, the image portion rises up and the inside sentiment appears.

Wala!!!!  Here's a peek inside the card which had a little surprise hiding in there too.  I had to check out the mechanics of this fancy card.  See, I told you she's talented.  Creativity comes second nature to her.  Jenny's on a Gorjuss Girl roll now.  Check out her blog here.

Finally, hubby and I got to dine out earlier this week for my b/d.  He's been so busy, busy, busy.  It was well worth the wait.   I've been wanting to see Heaven is For Real and luckily it was still playing at Prince Kuhio Theater.  It was great and inspiring.  After the movie we dined at One-Plus-One, a Vietnamese restaurant in Hilo.   'kay, our tummies were growling by the time we got there. We ordered family style.  For starters, the Appetizer Platter.....

and Oriental Chicken Salad .......

and Honey Shrimp Walnut  (yummy).......

and Roast Pork (this is one of my hubby's fave....I pass.  If I ate this stuff, I'd rip off all the fat and eat only the meat...ha-ha)....

and Fried Rice (hubby needs his gohan (rice)....

and Special Chow Funn (I NEED my noodles....

Obviously we couldn't eat everything so we brought the leftovers home.  Ahhhh, so full and content....oink.

Lastly, hubby went fishing a few days ago with his fishing buddy.   Check out their catch.  Onos, akus, and ahis.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Sending "Get Well" Wishes for my Dear Friend's Pooch

About a week or so ago, my sweet high school friend told me about her sweet pooch who had surgeries on her leg.  Having 4 pooches of our own, I can imagine how she felt.  So I whipped up this CAS card to cheer her up.  She just emailed me saying her darling pooch is doing well and back to her happy-go-lucky self, and the sutures will come out in a few days.  YAY!!!!

For this card, I sat "Kiki" by Sister Stamps on the "Daisy Rock" by Little Miss Muffet in a grassy field.  The grass punch is by Martha Stewart.  I inked the images with Copics and the sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!  Toodles.

More B/D Goodies

Hi Everyone!  Hope you're all enjoying the weekend.    I really feel blessed to have such sweet and thoughtful friends, and my crafty cuz who sent me this pretty easel b/d card.  I really hope she'll start a blog one day so you can see how creative and talented she is.   Hint, hint......again.  :-)

We R Memory Punch boards are so popular now.  Here's the Pillow Box Punch Board she sent me.   Can't wait to play with it.

And here's the Gift Bag Punch Board.    Bags always come in handy when sharing things with friends or using them for favors.   It's just great that the punch boards can make different sizes and we can personalize them.  Whoever created these punch boards is a genius!

I love anything Asian.  Here's a bamboo stamp by Impression Obsession which I already inked up.   Ohhhh, I've never used ink pencils before so it'll be fun playing with them.

She also got me this circle cutter.  I used to have one long ago that I never used, so I sold it.   Ahhh, then one day I needed it and yup, it was gone forever.  Isn't that how it goes???  LOL   And finally, a bottle of Fran-tage.  AWESOME stuff with AWESOME effect.  Love  it!!!!  THANK YOU sweet cuz.

Hoping to dine out with hubby this week.  He's been super busy and I totally understand.   Hmmmm, where should we go?????  Licking my chops already.   Noodles.....again, sounds good.  Hee-hee.

Have a great week everyone and thanks for stopping by.

She sent me this sweet stamp set by Penny Black called "Mimi in Paris."   Makes me want to travel.  :-)

Ohhh, now this is the first Hello Kitty calculator I've ever owned.  Check out all the sparkling bling.  Woo-hoo.

She included some yummy Easter chocolate.  My sweet tooth thanks her.
