Happy Birthday to my Very Dear Friend

Hope your holiday weekend is off to a fun start.

A few days ago, I had dinner with one of my friends that I hadn't seen for years.  We dined at Hilo Rice Noodle.   Yup, you guessed it, I ordered noodles (Chicken Crispy Noodles).  YUM!   And dang, I brought my camera and was so hungry, I forgot to take a pix.

Today, I took another dear friend to Miyo's for her birthday.  Had a grand time chatting and grinding.  This time I took a break from noodles and ordered the combination Shrimp Tempura (another fave of mine) and Beef Teriyaki.  Had my camera and DANG, forgot to take a pix AGAIN.  Guess when I'm hungry, I tend to lose my memory.  Ha-ha-ha.  Boy, that placed was packed.  I swear every single seat was taken.  And it's no wonder, the food is so oishii (delicious).

Well, here's the card I made for my friend.  As you can see, my eyeballs were a little crooked when I glued the sentiment on.   Or maybe I shouldn't mention cause you wouldn't have noticed yah?  LOL.  Let's just say it should be on a slant.  Hee-hee.
You can't see it but I also placed a clear plastic over the image to give it a glass effect.

Here's the close-up of the flowers, charm, and shiny butterfly.....

I used these fun items for this card:

Image - "Miyoko" by Sister Stamps
"Dainty Leaf" die by Poppy Stamps from Island Scrapbooking
"Butterfly" die by C.C. Designs
Sentiment by and from Island Scrapbooking
Frantage from Ben Franklin Crafts
Flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts
Pearl flourish by Prima from Island Scrapbooking
Ribbon from stash
Dangling butterfly charm - made by yours truly
Pearls by Kaiser Craft
Cherry Blossom embossing folder by Cuttle Bug

I made some cards to give my friend as part of her gift.  Will post them in the upcoming days.

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!

Hello Bloggie Friends.  Just want to say, "Thank you again for your  prayers and concern for our safety from  Hurricane Iselle.  Though we were without electricity, cable, and internet for a few days and had to toss a couple bags of food items from our refrigerator, we were SO BLESSED AND FORTUNATE to not have any damage to our home or property.  I hope those in the lower Puna area will  have their lives back to normal soon.

Here's a card I made recently for our friend's daughter.

For this card, I used the following:

We Survived Hurricane Iselle

Just putting up a quick post before I go to work.  We fortunately survived Hurricane Iselle with no damage to our home and property.  Our land line, cell, cable, and electricity were down.  Finally, got electricity restored at 6:00 p.m. Sunday and the crew from Oceanic Cable worked diligently next to our neighbor's house from 6:15 p.m. yesterday till after I went to sleep last night.    Oh and our land line and cell is working too.  Thank you all very much for your prayers and concern.  Hope to get a new post up this evening.  Please continue to pray for those who were less fortunate in the lower Puna area.  Thank you again.  Big Hugs, Karen

A Sweet Bouquet "Thank You" Card

Hello Peeps!   Thought I'd get this post up before Hurricane Iselle makes landfall this evening.  Expecting   Hurricane Iselle will give us "the works" when it hits tonight.    OMGosh, this is the first time I'll experience a hurricane and I must admit, it's quite scary despite being prepared with our emergency supplies.   Plus, this is the first to ever hit the Big Island. Yikes!  We're already getting some rain and occasional gusts of wind.   Please pray for everyone on our island and state.  This is a real "biggie."  Okie dokie, we have a long list of things to still do to prepare for the hit now that its daylight, including protecting my craft goodies....LOL.

For this card, I used:
"Ruby" by Whimsy Stamps
Copics
Lace by Martha Stewart
Laser cut sentiment by and from Island Scrapbooking
Butterfly punch by Martha Stewart
Crystal Flourish by Prima from Island Scrapbooking

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

Enjoying Life's Simple Moments

Happy Sunday Peeps!  Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.  Yesterday, I went to a Hoolaulea at New Hope.  I wasn't able to go early but did buy some Poi Balls (like Cascaron) and oh boy, they were soooo good.

Sharing this card today using an image called "Tweetest Friends" by Whimsy Stamps.  Inked this cutie with Copics and "framed" her with Framelits by Stammpin' Up/Sizzix.  The dangling charm was simple to make using part of a necklace and butterfly charm.  My new computer didn't come with Word Art so I wasn't able to create the sentiment in a curved format to fit the banner.  Oh well, no biggie.

Other crafty ingredients:
DIES:  "Chloe Stem" by Memory Box
"Vintage Bird Cage" by Poppy Stamps
           "Picket Fence" by Poppy Stamps
           "Resting Birds" by Memory Box
           "Ribbon Banner" by Spellbinder
Flowers from Stamp and Create
Pearls by Kaiser Craft
DP from stash
Butterfly punch by EK from Ben Franklin Crafts

All dies by Memory Box and Poppy Stamps are from Island Scrapbooking.
