3rd Batch of Coaster Calendars - Yoichi Beating on the Taiko Drum

Hey Peeps!   Hope you all had a fun and relaxing Christmas with family and friends.   Did anyone do some After-Christmas shopping?   I sure did.   I headed to the mall and got some sweet "steal-of-a-deal" at Macy's.  Got a couple of jeans regularly priced at $49.00 but paid $14.99 each at the
Doorbuster price.  Also, a pair of shorts and two blouses at 40% off.  Then went to Island Scrapbooking for more deals.   Cha-ching!!!  Ready for more crafting.

Sharing with you today is another set of coaster calendars I made to enclose with some of Christmas cards.   Yoichi is one of my favorites by Sister Stamps.   I inked him up with Copics, used bamboo design washi paper which I got from Japan (wish I bought more), and grass punch by Martha Stewart.  BTW, the calendars start with December 2013.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!  Wishing you all a fabulous day with family and friends.

Ah, finally the big day is here.   Before I continue cooking which I started yesterday for our family dinner, thought I'd get this post up.  Here's my 2nd batch of calendars I made to include with some of  my Christmas cards.  This adorable image is by Crafter's Companion "Flowers From Bamboo" set which I inked with Copics.  Cute little bear yah?   As soon as I saw this image while blog hopping several months ago, it was on my "must have" list.  I got this at Cute Stuff on Oahu which is closing its doors this month.  So sad.  Keeping it simple, I just added the little butterfly using my EK punch and a pearl by Kaiser Craft to the calendar.

And here's one in turquoise......

Here are 10 in pink......

And 8 in turquoise.....

Office Grab Bag Exchange

This past week, our office did a "White Elephant" grab bag exchange meaning each person was to bring something from home and try not to spend any $$$.   Love that idea.  Well, the grab bag I brought was one of my MANY unused cookbooks with delicious chicken recipes.    A few days before our exchange, I decided to make some cards too.   Since I didn't have much time, I kept it CAS and made 3 designs, 2 of each.

Here's the first one.  The image is by Dandelion Designs "Friends Set" which I inked up with Copics.   The branch die is called "Woodland Branch" by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking.  I also used a scallop punch by EK, loop die by Sizzix, embossing folder by Cuttlebug, and sakura (cherry blossom) laser cuts by and from Island Scrapbooking.

And here are 2 of them....

For my next card, I used the "Tall Vase" and "Fairy Flower" dies by Poppy Stamps from Island Scrapbooking, embossing folder by Cuttlebug, DP and laser cut sentiment from Island Scrapbooking.

And here are 2 of them.....

Finally, this potted plant.   The pot die is by Spellbinder, "Fuchsia Sprig" die by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking, sentiment by QuicKutz, butterfly punch by EK, embossing folder by Cuttlebug, and pearls by Kaiser Crafts.

And here are 2 of them.....

I'm super thrilled to have received this gorgeous Hawaiian print blanket that my co-worker made.   I LOVE IT!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!

Ummm, Yummy Mochi

Here's my 4th set of cards which I'll be combining with others to make 6 sets of assorted cards for gifts.

Gee, I'm craving some mochi now that I see Hideo by Sister Stamps enjoying some.  Ummm, I like mine with a mixture of Kinako (toasted soybean flour) and sugar.   In case you're wondering, the Kagami Mochi on the table is a special traditional Japanese decoration for the New Year. It is usually displayed inside the house to bring good luck and prosperity in the new year.  Kagami mochi is made of two rice cakes (mochi) with the smaller one placed over the larger one, and a type of orange placed on top.

Angelic Mimi

Hey Peeps!   How's your weekend going so far?   For me, it was fabulous!!!  I started the day by heading straight to Jenny's Craft Fair.  She and her crafty friends had a really nice variety of awesome creations and I finished my Christmas shopping there.  Then I headed to the Hilo High School Craft Fair and bought those scrubbies that's crocheted with netting.  I think those are the best for dishwashing.   Also, got a pkg. of Green Tea Dinner Rolls by Hilo Bake Company.  Ummmm, yummy.   There was a nice variety of  crafty creations there too.

Here's another set of Christmas cards I made.  This one featuring Mimi by Penny Black.  I almost sold this set but realized I didn't use this particular image yet so I held onto it and really happy with how it turned out.  Whew!  Of course, I HAD TO use Fran-tage as it is my newest favorite product to use.   Hawaii crafters, you can find it at Ben Franklin Crafts.

Here's a close-up of the poinsettia flowers by Poppy Stamps from Island Scrapbooking (IS).   I totally LOVE this die.  I remember my eyes popped when I saw it in the store and snatched it quick.  LOL.  Behind the poinsettias, I used the "Chloe Stem" die by Memory Box, also from  IS.

For the past several months, I've been making multiples of most of my cards, etc.   Here's a pix of the kit that I prepared before assembling them onto my cards for this set.  I actually enjoy making multiples because it gives me a greater sense of accomplishment.   :-)
