Hit Me, Cupid!

Hey Peeps, hope you're having a great week!

Today, I want to share this Valentine's card featuring this cute kitty image by Penny Black.  It reminds me of our cat Fuzz who we lost a few of months ago.   For this card, I used Spellbinder dies including "Label Three" which I got for Christmas from my cuz (thank you), Copics, heart edge punch by Martha Stewart, DP from my stash, leaves from my blog pal  Dora, flowers and buds by Prima, All Natural Accents, and Wild Orchids, butterfly from stash, sentiment (unknown), ribbon by Offray, pearl pen by VIVA, Stickle, Distress Ink, and bead charm which I made.

Here's a pix our our late beloved kitty, Fuzz.  I used to call her our "Calendar Cat."    She was super affectionate and sooooo tame.  When our sons were little, one of our sons could actually give her a ride on his bike with her back legs on the bar in front of the seat and her front paws on the handle.   They ride down the driveway but she'd fly/jump off when he hit a bump.  At night, she knew which part of the house we were in and she'd be right outside meowing to call us out in her super high-pitched voice.  Sometimes I'd go out to give her gentle neck scratches and she'd just purr with contentment.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
The Perfect Sentiment - "PSC64 - Anything Goes with a Die Cut"
Whimsy Stamps - "Challenge #55 - Fancy Edges"

A Cutie CAS Birthday Card and Meet Our Pups

Hope you're all having a wonderful week.

Does this image look familiar?  I used it for a few of my Christmas cards but altered the wagon portion by using an image with gifts in place of the flowers and kitty.   Here's the original image by Whipper Snapper Design which I got at Cute Stuff in Honolulu.

I also used Copics, Spellbinder dies, distress ink, sentiment by Dandelion Designs, "Simple Banner" die by Memory Box, twine, and rhinestones by Elements.

About a month ago, our son decided he wanted "a" (I repeat "a") puppy so he checked the website for the Humane Society and found a cutie which was at the Kona location (100 miles from home).   Not wanting to make that long drive, we took a chance and decided to adopt her.  So hubby went to the Keaau location to pay for her and the fee to have her transported to the Keaau location.  At that time he was informed it's BUY 1 GET 1 FREE.   OMG, then one became TWO puppies.  Our "bonus" pup is from the same litter.  They were 12 weeks old when we adopted them.   We're so glad they instantly got along very well with Buddy, our 3 year old dog.  Brees (pronounced Breeze) is a slipper snatcher and "Ratty" is very affectionate but can be a little trouble maker in a cute way.  OMG, do I dare tell you what Ratty's real name is?   OK, OK, I'll tell ya.  Our son said she looks like a rat and a kangaroo so he named her Rataroo.  I thought he was joking but he stuck to that name.  Poor baby.  Hee-hee.
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Aloha Friday and hope you have a fun and very crafty weekend.

Hugs

Life has been quite crazy lately but all is good.  I finally found some time to get into my craft room last night and play with my rubber stamps.   Happy, happy, joy, joy. ...my place for retreat.

I want to share a quote I once saw on a vendor's handmade item at a craft fair that I always remembered. I think this card goes well with the quote.  "A person may not remember what you did, but they always remember how you made them feel."  Spread the love and share some hugs.

The image and "hugs" sentiment are by Penny Black.  I also used Copics, Spellbinder dies, heart punch by EK, Lace Corner die by Cheery Lynn from J's Knicknacks, fence die by Magnolia from Island Scrapbooking, embossing folder by Sizzix, grass and butterfly punch by Martha Stewart, distress ink, flowers by Flashy Finds, rhinestones by Kaiser Crafts.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafts and Me Challenge - "Challenge #116 - Something New" (Fence die by Magnolia)
Pin and Tack - "Challenge #5 - Anything Goes"
Bearly Mine Challenge - "Challenge 69 - Anything Goes"
Allsorts - "Week 189 - Dies & Punches"

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a crafty day / eve.

Sailing with Butterflies

Hope you all had a fun weekend and are charged up for the new week.  Yesterday morning we were awakened at 4:30 a.m. by jolts of a 4.4 magnitude earthquake.  It was strong enough to kick the power off in our area.  I fell asleep again and awoke about 6:30 to get ready to head into town to run some errands.  But the power wasn't restored yet and it was still quite dark.  I had to put my make-up on using a flashlight.  Oh my, plus no power to blow dry for my hair.   That meant a bad-hair day, better duck if I see someone I know.  Hee-hee.  Oh but just as I was about to leave, the electricity went back on.  Whew, SAVED!!!

Gee, seems like it's been about a month since I last played with my rubber stamps.   We've been so busy with the holidays, year-end cleaning which is still not complete (call it Spring Cleaning now), and painting the house (inside).

Well, I squeezed in some craft time this afternoon since I was getting withdrawals, and made this card using a Penny Black image.  I also used Copics, Spellbinder dies (Label Seventeen), distress ink, DP by Bugs in a Rug, butterfly edge punch by Martha Stewart, cloud dies by Memory Box, sun die by Hero Arts, rhinestones by Elements, ribbon by Offray, twine, and butterfly charm by Horizon.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Dream Valley Challenge - "Challenge 48 - Anything Goes"
2 Sisters Challenge - "Challenge 125 - Anything Goes"
Crazy 4 Challenges - "Challenge C4C167 - Ribbon and Bows" (I used green and white checkered ribbon and used a twine to tie a bow)
Crafty Catz - "Challenge 164 - Anything Goes"

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a great week.
