Happy Birthday to Our Son's Girlfriend and a Lava Flow Pix

Well, as some of you may know, our oldest son and his girlfriend have 2 kitties.....big kitties.  So I thought this Penny Black image would be perfect for our son's girlfriend who recently celebrated her birthday.  Of course, I wanted to color this kitty like one of their cats which is gray.  And that would be Eli.  If you zoom in, you can also see the most itty-bitty bow I've ever made with sewing thread to tie the strings for the balloon.

Ingredients for this card:
Copics
"Puffy Clouds" and "Resting Birds" die by Memory Box from Island Scrapbooking
Balloon dies by CC Design
Fence die by Magnolia
Grass punch by Martha Stewart
Sentiment - Laser cut by and from Island Scrapbooking
Embroidery Thread
Thread for bow

And for those who live in Hawaii, especially on the Big Island, we are keeping our eyes on the lava flow and praying for those who are or will be affected as it inches it's way towards Pahoa town. According to the news report I just heard, the front is 50 yards wide, traveling about 300 yards per day, and is currently about 2 miles away from reaching Hwy. 130.  It is estimated to cross the hwy. in about 12 days.  Alternate routes are being constructed now.  This shot was taken from our street.  The left side of that line of smoke is the flow front.  That is about 20 miles (per hubby) from where we live but we're at a higher elevation.

Thank you for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!

You made a wonderful card for a cat lover. There are so many sweet cat stamps out there. Before my sons got cats I was very pro dog but now I find myself drawn to cat things too. I also make cat cards now. I am inspired by yours.

Another fun scene card, Karen! I really like how you have the background scene and added the circle inset with the sweet kitty inside...and the balloons outside the inset! That's SO NEAT! Sigh, wish my creative brain could think up layouts like this!

i bet she loved it.
I hope the lava didn't take out too much of the area, and that it by passed Pahoa town. 20 miles out seems far, but looks so close.
