Fun Weekend at the Hilton Waikoloa for Taping of Wheel of Fortune and a Card to Share

Hi Peeps!   Hope you all had a super weekend.

About a month ago, my hubby asked if I wanted to see the taping of the Wheel of Fortune at the Hilton Waikoloa.  My answer was a no-brainer.  YAH, LET'S GO.   So we got tickets for the taping this past Saturday.  After meeting up and having lunch with friends from Oahu who we haven't seen in years, we checked in to the Hilton Waikoloa.  Despite the brutal sweltering heat, we had a grand time.

We were super lucky to get VIP tickets.  Really, we're not sure how that happened but hey, we'll take it.  Thank you very much.

We also had a choice room.   From our balcony, we could see the Wheel of Fortune stage.  There were two seatings that evening (as well as the other 3 days of taping).  Because we could see the stage, we got to view the taping of both seatings, one from our balcony, and one from the live audience.    They taped 2 shows in one seating.  The taping we viewed from the audience will air on 11/6 and 11/7.  It was quite an experience to see trailers for equipment, film crew, cameras on cables sliding back and forth to capture the audience, Pat Sajak and Vanna White in person, the guy whose voice we hear introducing Pat and Vanna and the prizes.  Did you know, there is only one wheel that the contestants spin and it weighs 2,400 lbs.  Wowser!

We also had a spectacular view of the ocean from our balcony.

This resort is HUMONGOUS with several towers.  So to get around you either walked a LOT or could catch the tram or boat.   When we first got there, we caught this boat to the Ocean Tower.

Hubby and I felt like eating Japanese food for dinner so we dined at Imari.

Since we got there about 15 minutes before opening, we each ordered a drink to cool off.    I very rarely drink alcoholic beverages and we don't do this all the time so he ordered a Bud and I ordered The Pipeline (peach schnapps, vodka, and tropical fruit juice).

Started off with the Imari Salad.   See those long yellowish things on the top?   We never saw that before and were wondering what it was.  Hubby said he thinks it ginger flower buds.  Hmmmm, I don't think so.  LOL.   So we asked the waitress.  She said they are corn shoots.   Ohhhh, interesting and yummy.

Hubby ordered the Tuna Stack.  It has avocado on the bottom and sashimi on top.   That was all his because I do not eat raw fish.  Funny kind Japanese yah?   LOL

Here's the Hiyashi Chika Noodles.   UMMMMM NOODLES!!!!  YUM!!!!

And we both ordered Shrimp Tempura.   Ummmm, little bit skinny but very oishii (delicious).

Hubby loves his ice cream and ordered the Tempura Fried Banana Split.   We shared this.  It's like Banana Lumpia covered with ice cream, topped with whipped cream, coconut flakes, and chocolate drizzle.   Our tummy's were definitely satisfied.

And on to my CAS scene card using "Critters in the Snow" set by Lawn Fawn, "Landscape" die by Mama Elephant, Copics, and "Golf Club Landscape" die by Memory Box with the flag snipped off.   All are from Island Scrapbooking.

Thank you for stopping by and HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY!!!
