Happy Hump Day All!! Just two more days till the weekend. Who's counting?
Oh, I'm so excited about this card. This is my first Hawaii themed card. Here's Welcome Birgitta by CC Designs holding her pretty plumeria lei. I wanted to surround her with some tropical flowers and leaves so I started by punching a bunch of flowers that resembles the plumeria. It's an "oldie but goodie" punch by EK. I then distressed the edges to give it a 2-toned blended look just like the real flower. The monstera leaves (the two big ones) are from a clear leaf stamp set by Hero Arts.
You know what....I think I do have an addiction to leaves. Aside from this stamp set, I decided to count how many leaf punches I have in my stash. OMG, I have 9, plus 3 dies. What's up with that? Is there a name for such an addiction?
Exception....see those four pretty leaves on the left side? They're not from my stash of punches. I got them from Island Scrapbooking (IS). Pretty huh? I think they're laser cut. Is that right Michele? The word "Aloha" is also laser cut from IS. Michele used glitter paper. Love the sparkle.
I'm entering this card in the Lollipop Crafts Challenge #43. This weeks challenge is "monochromatic." At first, I was like "Huh?" But after reading about it, I thought that was a terrific idea. All you need to do is use varying shades of the same color. How easy is that? If you'd like to join in on the fun, click here for the details. BTW, the dark pink background actually has stripes in two different shades. Hope you can see them.
Other supplies used: DP by K & Co., Copics, Spellbinder die, edge punch by Stampin' Up, grass stamp by Viva Las Vegasstamps, other 2 leaf punches (one in Birgitta's hair) by Punch Bunch (from J's Knicknacks), embossing powder, and Glitter Dome (flower centers) also from J's Knicknacks.
Thank you for stopping by and hope you all HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY. Aloooooha! :-)

Super cute! Great job!!
Wow, this card is adorable, Karen! I'm very impressed with your copic coloring skills, and I love how you used your nestabilities to create a window frame for Birgitta. As for your addiction to leaves...I think it's great! You've done an awesome job of using so many different leaves to dress up your card!

Hi Karen,
Pretty Aloha card. Love those punches!!
Very pretty card Karen! Haha, love your obsession with the leaves. I have a lot of leaf dies too and punches and yet I rarely use them.
Woo Hoo Karen~
Awesome, this is my second time I commented on your card. When I went back to your blog page I didn't see my first comment so that's why I'm re-doing it. I figured out why I didn't enter the word vertification. Anyways, yes your card is very "PRETTY"
Happy Friday and have a super upcoming weekend!
Hey I spy more leaves! :) Great job on this card! Luv the ALOHA spirit! Have a great weekend!
I think this is the first time I am visiting your blog. It is a great site and your work is lovely. With autumn around the corner, your leaf addiction will mean that you'll have lots of ways to decorate your cards for the fall season.
I love this card. It is simply gorgeous! Hope you win the contest.
