An Awesome Swap from my June Secret Sister

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.  Ohhh, I'm looking forward to the 4th of July holiday.

Check out this totally awesome card I received from Malia.  OMG, when I opened the box, my eyes popped when I saw this adorable card she made.  She inked up Marci so beautifully and I really admire how she put this Asian scene together.

I don't think you can really see it but she somehow added some "filling" because Marci 3D IRL.
And look at these gorgeous cherry blossoms Malia made.   WOW!!!
And here's a peek inside the card.   NICE!!!!
Love all the RAKS too.   THANKS MALIA for this awesome swap.
Thanks for popping in for a visit.  Happy, happy crafting.

Life is Sweet with Yummy Treats

Here's a card I made for Kim's June Sketch.  This image brings back memories of me as a child.  I loved cupcakes and always asked my Dad to buy some whenever we went to the bakery.

For this card, I used my dessert image by Stampendous with cupcake DP by 3 Bugs in a Rug, and the dotted pink DP from my stash.  The sentiment is by Our Craft Lounge.  Other supplies used:  Copic, Distress Ink, Spellbinder dies, flower embellies by Sassafras, word punch by Stanpin' Up, and pearls by Kaiser Craft.   And of course, can't forget to add some stitching.

Thanks for popping in.   Hope you all have a great week.

Happy Mail

Hello, hello.  Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.   A few days ago I was surprised to receive another happy mail from my cuz.  She's really talented and creative.   Check out the card and RAKs she sent me.

First up, is this cool flip-it card.  I think the flower is so gorgeous.  The strips on the sides trimmed with tiny rhinestones add a nice contrast and touch.

Here's the card with the score lines folded.....
....and a look on the flip-side.

She takes a lot of classes at Cute Stuff on Oahu and made this gorgeous purse.  So sweet and very "local" with the slippers / flip-flops.

Oh WOW, I was floored to also receive this set of stamps.  "Geisha Emma" is calling me to ink her up.

And finally, here's a pix of what I ate for lunch today.  We (Karen D., Jenny, and I) enjoyed lunch at Miyo's.  My Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura was DEEEELICIOUS.   Boy was I starving.   Had to satisfy my growling tummy.    LOL.

Unfortunately, our friend, "Oli" couldn't make it because her car broke down on her way to lunch.   I'm just glad she hadn't turned onto the highway when it happened and there were two nice gentlemen who helped her out.  Fortunately, she managed to get home safely driving 20mph.

Rats, the waitress took a pix of us but it came out too dark.  Adjusting the exposure didn't work too.   Oh well, next time.   :-)

Thanks for visiting and hope you have a nice, relaxing, and crafty Sunday.

Lemonade on a Hot Summer Day, a card for my Anything Goes Swap Partner for June

With summer here, we're in for some hot sunny days.   Here's Birgitta by CC Designs relaxing and sipping on some ice cold lemonade.  I made this card for Cyndi, who is my "Anything Goes Swap" partner for June.  I just found out it's her birthday today.   Happy Birthday Cyndi!!! Hope you have a GOOD one.  If you'd like to join in this fun swap, click here for the deets on Shirl's blog.

Using my window die by Memory Box, I created a little sunny scene outside.  I thought this DP by The Girl's Paperie was perfect because it looks like wallpaper.  I also used Flower Soft for the carpet, Copic, table and chair stamps by Hero Arts, tree by Studio 112, and cloud stickers.  I cut a tiny piece of clear plastic for the cup, and the lemonade and straw were made with tiny pieces of scrap  CS.  Lastly, I used embroidery thread and tied a little bow in Birgitta's pigtails.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 222 "Here Comes Summer"
Paper Play Challenge - Week 25 "Use a Die"
Crafts & Me Challenges - Challenge 89 - "Anything Goes"
Stampin' for The Weekend - Challenge 12 "Show Us Your Style"

Thanks for stopping by.   Hope you HAVE A SCRAP HAPPY DAY.

No Better Way to Relax

Happy Sunday and Father's Day Friends.

A quick post today.   Here's a card I'm entering in the Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #18 "Anything Goes."  This was a fun card to create with a splash of flowers, bling, and colors.  For this card, I inked up the image by Tina Wenke with Copics, sun die by Hero Arts, DP's by Best Creation, DCWV and 3 Bugs in a Rug, leaves die by Cheery Lynn, black corner accent from the "Parisian Accent" set by Spellbinder, flowers by Prima and All Natural Accent, lace  and butterfly punches by Martha Stewart, ribbon by Offray,  pearls by Kaiser Craft, and I topped it off with a bead charm that I made.
 Here's a close-up of the flowers.
 and the bead charm.
Thanks for poppin' in for a visit.   Hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day and a great week.

Lucky Me and a card from my May Secret Sister

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Hope you all have a fun and crafty weekend.

I want to share a pix of this awesome happy mail I received from Lynn.  My comment on her blog was picked at random and she sent me a bunch of pretty washi paper.

AND a roll of Paper Tape which I'm anxious to play with.   AND a gift card from Ben Franklin Crafts.
I feel so lucky and thrilled.   THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH LYNN.

Please hop onto her blog here and be sure to leave your sweet comments on a regular basis.   You never know, your comment may be the next one she randomly picks.

Next up is a card I received my Charleen who was my Secret Sister for May.  Isn't Hello Kitty so cute in her bikini.   Ready for the beach on a nice sunny day.
She also included some "bling" which I love to use on my cards.  I don't think I have any square ones so this is perfect.   Thank you Charleen.
Okie dokie, I need to get ready and dash out the door to run my usual weekend errands.   Have a crafty day.

A "Flip It" Birthday Card

Here's a fun birthday card I recently made using my "flip-it" die by Sizzix.  It's got to be one of the best dies I've ever purchased.  This card was for my "cuz" who loves birds so it was easy-peasy knowing which images to use.  Up front, the image is by Darcie's which I inked up with Copics.  The DP is by Durham, sentiment by Hero Arts, daisy punch by EK, corner accent, circle, and scallop dies by Spellbinder, and "bling" by Mark Richards.

Here's what it looks like folded on the score lines.

And here's a peek of the "flip" side.  These little cuties by Inkadinkado are sitting on a branch by Memory Box.  I added tiny leaves using my punch by Marvy, and some tiny sakura flower stickers by Mind Wave.  The "Happy Birthday" laser cuts are by Island Scrapbooking and so fun to use.

Alrighty, I better get dinner on the table now.   My tummy is growling.  LOL.

Thanks for popping in for a visit and Have a Scrap Happy Day!

A CAS Thank You Card with Cute Kiyomi

Happy Friday Peeps!   Woo-hoo, I'm so happy for the long weekend up ahead.

Here's a CAS card I made recently with Kiyomi by Sister Stamps.   She's one of my faves.  Since Kiyomi is Japanese, I kept the Asian theme using a bamboo design washi paper which I bought in Japan.   It has a crinkled texture but I'm not sure if you can see it.  Rats, I sure wish I bought more.

Other supplies:   Spellbinder dies, Copics,  "thank you" laser cuts by Island Scrapbooking, butterfly punch by Martha Stewart, and pearls by Kaiser Craft.

Thanks for popping in and your sweet comments.  Hope you have a WONDERFUL and CRAFTY weekend.

A Thank You Card for a Special Friend

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend and getting some crafting in too.    Today, I want to share a few pixs with you.   First up is a thank you card I made for a very special friend.  For those of you wondering what those characters say, it's "arigato" which means "thank you" in Japanese.  This stamp is by Mari & Me.  The "scroll" is actually from the "Fancy Tag" die set by Spellbinders.   Using it vertically makes it look like a scroll.   I actually got the idea from one of the cards Jenny posted on  Sister Stamps blog that her Aunty Jan made a while ago.  So credit for that idea goes to her.

I'm so hooked on Memory Box dies now.  Michele at Island Scrapbooking has a huge selection and I really love the effect of the "Floral Circle" (in green).

Other supplies used for the card above:  Japanese girl from Dandelion Design, washi paper from Japan,  flowers by Wild Orchid and All Natural Accents, leaf punches by EK and Punch Bunch,Distress Ink, Sakura (cherry blossom) flowers by Mind Wave from Japan, and pearls by Kaiser Craft.

Next up is a card my dear friend made for me.   OMG, this shows she has A LOT of patience.   She sure did a lot of "quilling" to make those pretty flowers and leaves.  Just love this cute scene.
And here's "part 2" of my b/d gift.   I LOVE this set!!!!  She is so thoughtful and generous.
And a pretty assortment of washi paper too.
And more quilling.  What a great idea.
Well, hope you all have a nice a relaxing Sunday.    Thanks so much for stopping by.
