Apples Anyone?

Happy, happy Wednesday.   We're half-way thru the week.

Today, I'm soooo excited to share with you this new window die that I got at Island Scrapbooking last week.  It's a Madison window by Memory Box.   Don't 'ya think it's COOL????   It was a "must-have" on my wish list and I'm so happy Michele brought them in.   THANK YOU MICHELE!!!!   Made my day!!!!

I was a bit puzzled when I first cut it out as the dark brown "wall" showed right thru.   Hmm, I needed some dimension so I added a piece of stripe DP for the wallpaper in the "living room", then add "curtains".  Pop-up dots behind the window also gives it dimension.   Can you tell I love using my "Buddy" pooch stamp whenever possible?   He heard Apple Emma return from her harvest so he jumped on the couch to take a peek outside.   If you click on the pix, you'll see the stripes on the dark brown wall.

I'm entering this card in the Lollipop Crafts Challenge #73 - Anything Goes.

Supplies:  Apple Emma by C.C. Designs, DP by K & Co.,  Copics, stripe embossing folder by Stampin' Up, dog stamp by Dandelion Designs, grass stamp by Hero Arts, flower punch by EK, edge punch by Fiskars, and rhinestones and pearls by Kaiser Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by.   Hope you have a relaxing and crafty evening.

WOW, Another Blogger Award

(Note:   A separate post for the Versatile Blogger Award is below this post.)

Edited on 3/28/12 - Thank you very, very much Colleen for giving me this cool award again.  Oh boy, what an honor.  I'm really starting a collection here.   LOL.   Big hugs with much appreciation for your thoughtfulness.   To my valued visitors, please click here to hop onto Colleen's blog and see her inspiring creations.   You'll love it.

OMG, I received another award.  This one was given to me by "Handmade Cuties."   I'm sorry, I wish I knew her name but I don't.  She is definitely THE Queen of Beads.  Have you seen her creations????  Sooooo, soooooo CUTE!!!  Please click here to hop over to her awesome blog.  Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness in giving me this beauty of an award.  I'm on Cloud 9.

Along with this award is a request to share with you 10 random facts about myself.    Hmmmm, let's see......
1)   I LOVE to watch UH Football.  Now that we have Norm Chow as a new head coach, the upcoming season is sure to be a thriller.   Can't wait to watch the games along with grinding some yummy food.
2)  As a child, I was a tomboy, hated dolls, dresses, and all the frills.   I'd much rather play with my brother's toy tractors, climb our huge mango trees, and play baseball, kickball, tetherball, and touch football.
3)  In my younger days, I used to think I wanted 6 children.  After one, I knew I was nuts and changed my mind QUICK.   Three is just right....still went nuts though.
4)  I used to be an avid collector of cookbooks (like a big bookshelf worth) until rubber stamping came into the picture.   Now my cookbooks collect dust.    LOL
5)  I love all colors except mustard and gold (unless it's jewelry, but I'm not really a bling-bling kinda gal.  I'd rather put bling on my cards)  LOL
6)  I used to play the clarinet in our high school band.   But don't ask me to play anything now because all you'll hear will be squeaks.  LOL
7)  I love noodles.  Just had some yummy Wor Ton Mein this evening.  Just perfect on this cold and rainy day.
8)  I love to eat with chopsticks.   It makes the food taste better.  LOL
9)  My favorite cake is Dream Cake.    Ummmmm, I can taste it now.   Not too sweet, not too rich, and not to heavy.  Are you getting hungry?????
10)  I used to bake A LOT, like once a week.  Now it's like almost never, too busy crafting.  It's more fun and HEALTHY.

On with the awards.....with great honor, I'd like to recognize the following awesome bloggers (in no particular order) with the Kreativ Blogger Award because you continue to be such an inspiration to me. An Easter Egg for Bunny

Hello Peeps!!! Hope your weekend is a fun and sunny one. Mother Nature is blessing us with a lot of rain here.

This is a card I made for Miyuki for the March swap hosted by Kris. I was her Secret Sister. Thanks for your email Miyuki. So glad you loved it as I had a grand time creating it for you.

I'm so in love with my new cloud die by Memory Box that I got at Island Scrapbooking a few weeks ago as I've been looking for clouds for some time. As soon as I saw it, I was on Cloud 9. Woo-hoo.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - Easter theme
Paper Play Challenge - Spring Colors
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

This cute little boy is Masa by Sister Stamps and the bunny's name is Daba, whom I inked up with Copics. To give the scene some dimension, I distressed the edges of the fence and grass.   Being that I'm "stitch happy" I also sewed the dotted DP to the blue CS.  Oh and this is the first time I did paper piecing.   FUN.
For added dimension and some fun detailing, I used baker's twine on the pennants.
Products used: Fence, grass, butterfly, and Easter egg punches by Martha Stewart, pennant stamp by Hero Arts, Spellbinder die, "Easter Wishes" sentiment by Studio G,  pooch stamp by Dandelion Designs and pearls by Kaiser Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by.   Have a Scrap Happy Day.   Hugs.

A Sweet Ayako Notepad

Hello, hello peeps. Hope your week is going well.

Today, I want to share this notepad featuring Ayako by Sister Stamps. Gotta say, this was totally fun to design with the crinkled bamboo washi paper which I got in Japan. RATS, I should've bought more of them. I inked her up with Copics, distressed the edges of the background with yellow, and added some cherry blossom stickers by Jolee's Boutique. AND do you see those awesome leaves? My friend, Dora sent them to me all the way from Europe. She is such a super sweet gal. Thanks Dora.

This will also be a project for the FCE club to make for their upcoming fair in May but I'll be using a cherry blossom and different leaf punch as well as different DPs for the background.

Here's a close-up of the flowers and leaves.....
.....and a look at the notepad slightly spread open.
Happy Hump Day and a big thank you for stopping by.

Easter Card from Jeri

Happy Monday Peeps. Hope you all had a fun and relaxing weekend.

Last week I received another surprise happy mail from Jeri. Check out this CUTE Easter card she made. She used a pop-up dot behind the flower for dimension. I love Easter cards because they are always cheery, bright, and happy. She even included a box of pretty chopsticks and a card kit from Cute Stuff which I'm looking forward to assembling. I love to eat with chopsticks.....makes the food taste better. LOL. May use some from crafts too. THANK YOU JERI!!! You made my day.

Thanks for popping in and hope you all have a super great week.

Happy Easter Sweetie

Happy Sunday Peeps! Hope you're all enjoying the weekend. It's a sunshiny day today....finally....yay.

This was such a fun card to create which I'm entering in Kim's sketch for March. A dear friend who I met in blogland knows me quite well and SURPRISED me with the "Mimi & Miles" stamp set by Penny Black and some other goodies. She knows I'm a HUGE fan of Penny Black stamps. WOW, I was blown away by her sweet thoughtfulness.

This image is from the Mimi and Miles set and so perfect for Easter. Don't you think Mimi looks adorable with her bunny ears?

If you'd like to join in the fun, click here to hop onto Kim's blog for the deets.

Ingredients: Copics, Spellbinder dies, DPs (unknown), flowers by Prima, leaf punch by Martha Stewart, pearls by Kaiser Craft, Distress Ink, and heart stickers by Sticko. The sentiment on the tab was made on the computer.

Back to the Installation Dinner One Last Time

Wheeee....it's the weekend. I'm hoping for some sunny skies for the neighbor islands as they've been drenched with LOTS of rain over the past few days. Oahu even had a small tornado, AND golf ball and tennis ball-size hail. Good grief, what is Mother Nature up to? This is really freaky for Hawaii.

So I'm delinquent again posting pix from the Installation Dinner. Here's the last of them. For game prizes, I made a couple of calendars using coasters, washi paper, Spellbinder dies, and a "Long Life" stamp. The coaster is from RAKs I received and the stamp is by Stampettes.

And also made several stand-up calendars with Hello Kitty. These stamps can be found at Ben Franklin Crafts. They're great for small projects. I got this idea from my friend Char. THANK YOU CHAR!!!!

Here's one with hearts.....

...and more hearts.

Hope you have a grrrreeat weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Curious Bunny Trying to be Friends with Akemi's Daba

Over the weekend I bought Release 6 of Sister Stamps. Ohhh, I heard they're selling like hotcakes. No wonder because they are all soooo adorable. Denise is such a FAB artist!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Lollipop Crafts - Challenge #70 "Clean and Simple."
Always Crafting - Challenge #3 "Anything Goes."

This was a very "easy-peasy" scene to create. I simply used my dies to cut out the tree, clouds, and sun. Then stitched the hills of grass in two different shades for dimension, inked up sweet Akemi, Daba, and the curious bunny and wala.....done. The only embellies I used were 2 mini star jewel stickers on Akemi's hair. Can you see them?

Ingredients: "Akemi" by Sister Stamps, "Puffy Clouds" die by Memory Box, "Twiggy Tree" die by Memory Box, sun die from the Classic Frame Set by Hero Arts, Copics, and mini star jewel sticker by Amuse

You can find the dies at Island Scrapbooking. They're HOT!!! I LOVE 'EM!!!

Back to the Installation Dinner

OMG, am I delinquent on posting or what? The Installation Dinner was 3 weeks ago and I got distracted with other fun things to post. Okie dokie, at our dinner we each had to bring a $10.00 grab bag. Of course I wanted to do something with "paper" and made this card using my Sizzix "Card A2 Flap" die. Gotta say, it's one of my fave dies because it's so easy peasy. The girls names were all placed in a bowl and we each had to pull a name then pick a prize for that person. Karen H. got this card and I was really happy she liked it. Yay!!!

On the front, I applied some flowers by Prima over the flourish from the Sizzing "Decorative Swirl Set." Then blinged it us with some pearls and rhinestones by Kaiser Crafts. The "friend" stamp is by Stampin' Up. Other supplies on the front of the card: DP by K & Co., brads, and scallop punch by Friskars.

Here's a peek inside. Using the pocket die by Sizzix, and wanting to brighten it up, I made a bouquet of flowers using my vase punch by Marvey, tiny flower punch by EK, leaf punch by EK, and a flower sticker by Sticko. Since I didn't have a "Just For You" stamp, I printed it on the computer. Thank goodness for computers at times like this. Then inserted a Walmart gift card.

Another shot with the gift card along side.

Alrighty, hope you all have a fab weekend. Thanks for stopping by.
